| ST. PETERSBURG BOWL: FAQ’s
Q: When will the bowl game be played?
A: The game will be televised nationally Saturday, Dec. 20, at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2—just in time to kick off the bowl season.
Q: What kind of teams might meet in this bowl game?
A: In the past two years, the Big East has seen Pittsburgh and Louisville go 6-6 and not make bowls. On the C-USA side, expect a seven-win team, such as Memphis and Southern Miss this past season.
Q: How can I get tickets, and what will they cost?
A: Tickets will cost $30. Fans can put their name on a list by calling toll-free 1-800-325-2910. Tickets go on sale this summer (through Ticketmaster). Tropicana Field can seat 44,000 for a football game.
Q: Where will they put a football field at Tropicana Field?
A: The field will be in the home plate corner of the stadium, extending down the first-base line into right field.
Q: How often will we see USF and Central Florida play in St. Petersburg?
A: Occasionally—but not against each other. When either finishes out of the top three or four in its league, St. Petersburg would be a potential bowl destination.
This Q and A was taken, in part, from a May 1, 2008 article in The St. Petersburg Times (by reporter Greg Auman).
