Head Coach Frank Solich
On the arrival of the team
“The trip was smooth, we were organized, got here and the weather is great. We enjoy being representatives of the Beef ‘O' Brady's Bowl and want to play really well and conduct ourselves well down here and enjoy the city and the bowl.”
“It feels really good to be back in the Florida sun. Our guys are looking forward to this opportunity, I recruit this area so I’m familiar with it. I have family here and l look forward to get a win. We came down here ready to perform at a high level.”
Quarterback Tyler Tettleton
“We are so excited to get down here and have another chance to play in another bowl game, especially in Florida. This team is so for fortunate and blessed to be in this bowl game. I’ve heard such great things about St. Petersburg.”
CB Travis Carrie
“I am overwhelmed right now. I’m glad we have this opportunity to come down and play in Florida. I think it’s a great experience for a lot of the players that haven’t been able to travel a lot. Personally, I am here to have fun and to win the game. The biggest thing for us is the adjustment to the weather. We are excited that we’ll be able to see the beaches and the overall Florida experience.”
East Carolina holds second practice at Clearwater Central Catholic HS
ECU held its second practice on Friday afternoon.
Head Coach Ruffin McNeill
On the team’s afternoon practice
“We had a good day. It was a short practice. Yesterday was a big adjustment day. I’m really pleased with what we did today. We need to control what we need to control. It’s called OPAAT, one play at a time. One play, one series, one quarter, one half, when that is over, we move to the next.
On playing against Ohio.
“Ohio has a spread concept. They have a long resume on film. They are very physical and cover blends with blitzes.”
LB Jeremy Grove:
On today’s practice:
“It was a good practice. We got a lot done to get ready for Monday. This is a big game for many reasons, getting our tenth win and going into the offseason with a win. Ohio has a very physical offense. The running back is a great player and he finds a lot of holes.”
